A full Professor of Geology- University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania since 2001 and Honorary Professor- University of Pretoria, South Africa. Recognised for teaching excellence, dedicated to intellectual honesty. Head of Geology Department of UDSM (1997- 2002), with emphasis on training & research quality assurance.
Executive Director.
The founder and first Executive Director (2007- 2010) of the International Council for Science – Africa, Region, Provided strategic, transparent leadership with a yearly budget of more than US$. 870,000 for de- novel scientific projects, conferences and high-demand policy development ventures for Africa.
Professional Fellow & Consultant
A Member of the International Experts Group of OECD, Vice-President for Commission of the Geological Map of the World, Fellow of eight highly professional societies including the Geological Society of London and Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. Undertaken over 100 scientific research, consultancy services & Chaired Conferences in mineral industry, environment, sustainable energy, including the UN-Economic Commission for Africa, AU- Commission and UN-International Year of Planet Earth.

Undertaken numerous field researches on Mineral Exploration, Geological Mapping and Laboratory tests in African, Europe & USA. The Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of African Earth Sciences and Associate Editor of Precambrian Research . Author or co-author of over 150 Scientific articles and Technical papers.
